Hulu is so awesome! Its in a private beta at the moment, but I finally got in after maybe a week or two of waiting after signing up for the Beta. So far it was well worth the wait!
Does anyone else watch their tv shows, video clips, other media online? Has anyone else heard of Hulu or have tried it out? What do/did you think?
Usually I like to go to each individual website and browse the video section for new episodes. Mainly like Discovery, Fox, and NBC. Those are my favorites sites to visit. But having all/most of the videos that I like to watch in one website is so much handier, and the Hulu website looks so much cleaner and nicer than the other sites.
+rep to Hulu and lets hope they become a successful popular media website!

Here is a screen shot of the embedded video player. I'm currently watching an episode of The Office titled "Money". :p

The buttons on either side of the video is what comes into display when you mouse over the video. My favorite buttons so far are the "Lower Lights" and "Full Screen", I haven't used the "Pop out" yet, but that might be handy in the future as well. The lower lights dims the entire page except the video, similar to the now deceased website Stage6. The other ones are fairly self explanatory. ^_^
...oh and the little white dots are commercials, about 15-30 seconds long each. Which is really nothing at all when you compare it to commercial time on TV, more around 3 minutes, give or take.
Forgot to mention something else. The streaming video is just as fast as most other websites that I visit, its probably faster, but my connection sucks butt. The quality of the video is also very acceptable, its not HD or anything, but HD would be kind of pointless for most people. Although I'm sure they'll have HD "specials", if they don't already. Anyways, the quality is just as good as basic television and when you full screen the quality only drops ever so slightly.

I have been on Hulu for a little while, although I havent really taken the time to watch it much. I also have Joost. In ways I like Joost and in other ways I like Hulu. I would really like so see more of this type of media delivery in the future. The only downside is neither of them will work on a smart phone or pda as of yet, which could come in pretty handy when your out and about and need to wait on something. I know that some carriers have that type of service already, but that situation comes so infrequently for me, it wouldn't be worth subscribing to for me, where this would be much better for me.
If any of you haven't checked either Joost or Hulu out yet, I recommend at least giving them a look.

I like Joost. I have been hearing good things about Hulu but due to licensing laws it is US only.

I used to use Stage6 a lot, but it looks like they're shutting down. It's a shame, the videos were very high quality DivX and they had some good stuff.
Joost looks pretty interesting though, I'll have to download it and try it out.

I've used both hulu and joost.
Overall Hulu is I think Hulu is better. They have quite a bit more mainstream, standard shows than Joost. Joost has a very cool interface though. Thats probably the only thing that Joost wins at. And hulu's interface isn't bad, but joost still wins. It's definitely a handy thing because I don't have to worry about making time for tv show. I can watch it whenever I want without paying for Tivo or something similar. The one thing I can't stand about Hulu is the fact that when the player is in full screen it doesn't disable your screensaver. Very annoying and I don't know why they don't change that. I don't know a lot about programming but I know that can be done for sure.

The Hulu interface is also very nicely done, and the video had no problem expanding fullscreen on my HTPC and looked pretty decent. Watched seas-1 ep-1 of "Total Recal 2070".
Gah, what a hogshoe that series is.

I wonder if they have the original Battlestar Galactica? That show is one of my favorites from "back in the day" television.

I'm the kind of person that has never watched a lot of commercial TV as a young adult--I was too busy riding motorcycles and chasing women. I'm just finally getting around to watching 9 years of Seinfeld--LoL.
Anything i want to watch these days is recorded first so i can skip the ads.

it's out of private beta. Anyone, in the U.S, that is can watch it now. I'm not sure if you still have to sign-up but you don't have to wait for them to invite you or if you just don't sign up at all.
Either way, they put a bunch more crap on and hopefully it will get even better.
