I was wondering if there are any programmers around here who could point me in the direction of a good forum for programmers. Newbie friendly of course.

Just thought i would ask.

Thanks guys.

What language?

For Java there's the Sun Forums (I don't like them though... they're kinda asses), Java Ranch, Java Gaming...

For all around programming CodeGuru looks good (lots of members and languages), DreamInCode looks even better, and everything else looked average.

Thanks for the topic though, I hadn't thought about joining a programming forum but it is probably a good idea :).

I haven't joined any programming forums so I can't really recommend. Most of the coding I do isn't bad enough for me to require external help, it just requires quite a bit of thought on how to do a certain function or that.

I do VB6 and PHP. I use Sythe.Org, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It's not that I'm looking for help, if I wanted that i would just talk to some of my school mates or my teachers. I was just looking for a cool environment to hang out in my down time.

I do Java, but I've done some c++ in the past.

I'll check out some of those forums you guys posted.
Thanks : )
