msi K9A2 platium and ram?

so... my mobo on my old computer just fryid:/... or at least i think so... so now i got an excuse to buy new hardware:bunny:

i just have a couple of questions:
i cant start the pc up... or at least when i power on the power starts but no screen signal.

when i remove the bios battery and that way "reboot" the bios i can turn the computer on an get into bios, when i try to go any further it just goes black screen.

i wonder if it really is the mobo thats gone, the ram or the cpu:S

so:
can i get into bios without a cpu?
can i get into bios without ram?

as far as i can remember i should be able to go into bios without ram.... but not cpu so i would guess its the mobo or ram thats gone.

so this is what im gonna buy

MSI K9A2 Platinum V2 (what is the different on the standard and the "v2" version? the standard is more expensive:O)

ram
Crucial DDR2 BallistiX PC8500 2048MB

i want this mobo so that i can upgrade from my current gfx to a pci-e 2.0 gfx, and a phenom cpu if they get thoose things working right:)

I had the original k9a platinum, and its overclocking sucked. I also hate where the extra power plug is located. I dont know much about the new board, but I can tell you that I'm interested in picking this board. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131224)

and thx about the advice about the board:D it looks nice, but the sata connectors is a bid wird placed... but if they sit the way i think it is just perfect for my mod:D

Sounds like a memory problem video or otherwise.
See if it boots windows without the 4-pin power connector attached.
Just listen to it. .make sure your speakers are on.

I'd also re-seat everything.
