Well, this afternoon I got bored so, let's mod...

What will my next victim be?

This halogen light looks innocent enough...

Some cabels here and there... (they fit in nice with my PCU cabels :), thanks to the Tacens fan that was sacrificed for it...)

I decided to mount it on my front panel just because it was too empty at the drive bays. So a grabbed the nearest drive bay cover and started drilling and sanding it off.

Various dremel cutting disks and sandpaper later:

And voila.

And here it is mounted:

And ofcourse in the dark:

Keep on modding 8),

Does the bulb not get insanely hot?
Looks the the bulbs i have for my ceiling lights and they get ridiculously hot!

Looks cool though!

Not really. I left the front panel door closed for some time and it didn't get very hot at all. The bulb itself get's hot, but the rest around it doesn't...

Just so happens I have the same case "NZXT Trinity".
I had a black on also, but I sold it.

I agree you may want to watch. .it looks like a fire hazard
. .no offense.

Offence not taken at all. A warning should be appreciated ;) I guess it's time to buy a fire extinguisher :D Also I don't keep it plugged in when I have to keep my computer on for a long time. Thanks anyways =)

Interesting. And an idea to make it less of a fire hazard: swap that bulb out for a smallish cluster of white LEDs. You should be able to achieve the same level of luminosity relatively easily.

Actually I thought of the LED's once earlier, but I'm more of an improvising modder than a buying one :D I actually already made the slot for it, I just need the LED's

hey its a bit late but if you want leds go to the cheap as chips or whateva and buy a circular head light they work well might do the job

:P good job tho

Pretty cool mod. Although I wouldn't do something similar if the case didn't have that door. :)
