According to sources, the 9800GX2 will be released the 18th of March and the 9800GTX will be released the 25th of the March. The 9800GT and 9800GTS are apparently going to be released April 3rd.

Ehh, too expensive for me. I also don't like how it is basically two 8800GT's underclocked and slapped together, yet they are throwing a 9800 badge on it. A new series should be a new series, not with cards that are just a rehash of the old.

For that price I'd get two 8800GT's and sli them. Yes you lose two slots but 1) its cheaper, and 2) most likely would perform better. (yes two 9800GX2's would out do that, but we're talking out of the price range of most people with just one of those cards, nonetheless two).

It's an expensive novelty item which will be replaced by a better/cheaper card soon enough, just like the 7 series GX2.

Unless being through the same slot makes two underclocked 8800GT's perform super awesome baddass, I won't be buying one. Not like it would be in my price range right now anyway. Not like any game I have needs it anyway. Ehh..

Got two on the way with a 792i board from Nvidia so I will post some benchmarks. Also have two sets of dual ATI 3870 X2s and five 8800 GTXs . . .tomorrow I am putting in teh two 3870 X2s with custom DD blocks into my Skulltrail rig which has dual QX9775s . . .gonna be some power.

I was going to put in dual 9800 GXs but I need the rig running for InfernaLAN (lan party at the Intel Dupont Campus) this weekend. I could not get Windows to see all four of the 8800 GTXs you see in the pic hence the upgrade to the ATI cards for now.

I hate you so much :P . NICE RIG(s)!!!

By the way, I think Im going to skip on the 9800GX2. The performance is OK (will probably be damn good w/ real drivers), but the price is just wrong. $600 for what is essentially two $200 8800GTs? I don't think so. I'm going to wait and see what RV770s and GT200s are like. Unless the 9800GTX is under $400, I am just going to wait.

I dont want one, however it will hopefully make the higher end 8 series price go down
