Yeah first and probably the only one. I want at least one, she really didn't want to have one but she said 1 was ok and she's happy when I'm happy. I think she might be a little happier then she lets on.

LOL!
When my first daughter was born, I told my wife I was going to start going to the gym, get a prison style tattoo, a big Harley, and a BIG gun! I only have about 10 years left till the boys start coming around. I remember when I was a teenager and always only had one thing on my mind.
If my kids are half as bad as I was as a teenager, I'm in trouble.

no names yet. Boy names we have some ideas but none for girls. thanks everybody. I know its not the same but i feel like I have already had some practice when my niece was born. I was still living at home and the whole family would help out but for some reason she just really stuck to me. Even now she asks me when I talk to her on the phone when am I coming back because she misses me. Really pulls the heart strings when a 7 year old asks you stuff like that.

Remember this feeling, and you'll be a great dad! Even the smallest things mean the world to a kid.
know why there are so many babies born around september?

I agree with this. I told my wife almost the same thing, but we decided NOT to have kids...
I love listening to the F-I-L tell stories of how he would make sure to answer the door whenever a guy would come over to pickup one of his girls (they had 4). He would make sure to have his handgun tucked neatly in it's shoulder holster and highly visible. He would answer the door in his gruffest FBI voice "What the hell do you want?" and when they left for a date he would be patting his weapon saying; "One minute late and we are coming looking for you!"
Sure glad I met him after he had mellowed a bit.

Grats on the baby! Being a dad is the greatest feeling in the world!
Airbozo: Haha.. i'm so glad I had a boy. I would be the same way!
Best movie quote on this topic: "If anything happens to my daughter, I have a .45 and a shovel, and I doubt very much that anyone would miss YOU."

the tech says its a girl. So it looks like a trip to the gun shop is in order.
She did not want to have her picture taken when we went in. She kept moving and rolling and balling up. My wife says she kept kicking her every time the tech would get a good view. So now I have to get figuring out some names for her and hope I come up with one she won't hate forever.

I have 3 girls.. All you need is a 12 Gauge pump, and PLENTY of cleaning supplies.. For some reason the boys really take notice of you when your sitting on the couch cleaning a 12GA, when they come to pick up your daughter. ;)
When your explaining the "rules" to them or telling them what time to have her home by.. its good pump it every so often while you are talking, and only look at them when you are waiting for an answer... :D

Gratz on the upcoming baby! The Mrs and I have decided to wait to find out what we're having...and let me tell you, it ain't easy shopping for neutral colors.
I have, however, talked my wife into wearing this (http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/ladies/9b11/?cpg=ab) and this (http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/ladies/8333/) though.

Wow, I'm glad none of my past GF's fathers were like some of you guys. I'm terrified of "meeting teh parents" as it is. But i can totally see were your coming from. I imagine i would be worrisome and nervous about my daughters all the time. But i don't have to worry about children just yet.
Congrats dude! Enjoy the time you have w/ her... i hear it goes by fast.

Hehe, My Father In Law (Ex FBI) still tells stories of how he would answer the door wearing his weapon in it's holster whenever a guy would come over to pick up one of his girls for a date.
While glancing from gun to boy: "Let's not find out what happens if you bring my daughter home late. MMMkay?"
He has 4 girls...
