I am using a Radeon X800 GTO card set at 1024 x 768.
Thinking of getting a nVidia 88000 series card.
What i want to know, is there a minimum or native resolution that these card run at.While I know they can go higher i find it impossible to read text on the screen at a higher resolution, which is why i like mine at the above.
I am currently using a 19inch wide screen which suites me down to the ground.
Thanks in advance for any help

maybe a bit off-topic, but you can set the DPI of your screen in windows. (display properties --> settings --> general) normally it is at 96dpi i think, but you can also set it to another value. What this setting actually does is making windows look bigger (or smaller).
The start button, taskbar, titlebar etc. all get bigger and also the normal sized text is set to a larger value. This way you can both have a high(er) resolution and a readable screen

I run all my LCD's at native res, and I agree that it can make text small and hard to read. As mentioned by Silverdemon, turn up your font size in Windows to 120dpi (large fonts option I think). It'll need a reboot after you do it, but that should make a huge difference for you.

Guys thanks very much for the replies:banana:
They are all very helpful. Will now start messing around with font sizes (never thought of that:redface:) and resolutions to see whats workable for me:up:
Still gonna have to save up some pennies for a 8800 series card:rolleyes:
