:smoker:Hello everybody I am new to the forum and to modding in general. I have to say I Love all your work! So much passion and ingenuity have gone into countless mods I've seen here. Anyway back to my problems at hand. I have finally gotten around to building a gaming pc. So I went with a relatively cheap case, a CoolerMaster Centurion 5. This case doesn't even have a window. So my first question is, How do you usually mount a material like uv acrylic to the stock metal case door? I mean after getting your hole cut and everything do you simply use an adhesive to bond the acrylic to the metal or do you actually make a frame, or rail, for it to sit in? If the answer is an adhesive please tell me more about the most common adhesives used for modding with acrylic, plexi, styrene, you name it if you've glued it i want to know with what. Other than that really is fillers used with materials like styrene. Like I said I am new to this but catch on fast. I don't know if I'll ever be able to write my own code for a servo controller like in the Motorized Madness mod, which was sweet by the way many props, but a guy can dream right. Any help on this will be most appreciated.
Welcome aboard! Have a look in the wiki.. LOTS of good material there. http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/modwiki/index.php/Main_Page. You could use a double sided adhesive (3M is probably best), or even drill through and use nuts and bolts.

Lots of different ways of doing this. I prefer to go the nuts and bolts approach--however, when drilling your plexiglass DRILL SLOW. That stuff can break very easily, plus if you build up too much friction, the plexi will start to melt and warp--stuff you do not want to deal with.
You can also buy pre fabbed window kits from such stores as Frozen CPU (link is in the wiki under suppliers) which come with a template, a window and some C-molding which holds the window in place.
The choice is up to you ultimately. Researching how you want to do it is by far the best thing you can do.
Oh, and welcome to your new addiction!

Thank you both for your help. I have already been reading more about how the metal can flex more than the plexi and create problems. So I can understand the bolting. Also I read here that there is really not a UV acrylic is this true? I found this in the tutorials forum on working with these materials.

I'll have to take a look at that tutorial--most materials are UV-reactive to a point. Notice that I did not say plexi.
