I went on to modshop.net today to see how things were going in the contest and my Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security software popped up and gave me a "Dangerous Error that the addresss Http://tul.modshop.net/hg?hc is a dangerous website. catagory hacking / Proxy Avoidance.
It suggest to close your web browser window and do not reopen this website.
Anyone have any other problems going to this site. I've never seen this before so its new. I'm just wondering if it is still safe.

I'd ignore the warning as is places proxy avoidance in the same group as hacking. This looks like a message I received in High School from Websense.

If that's the site where they held those "competitions"... I agree.

yep, that's the site. I think it could be a good site if they changed the way they do things.
the fact that the contest is based on popularity is messed up. It should be based on the computer mod itself, not how many friends you have. Because honestly, there is no way in he'll some of those mods get as many votes as they do based on the design itself! I'm not bitter, but I got beat by "the desk" Give me a break!

TBCS should hold our own competitions. With categories.
Quality, Originality, Execution, etc
then add up and average out the scores
that way it's not popularity alone

Isn't that what our contests are about? Yes they are based on designs and not physical mods for the most part, but we also don't have a huge mod output either. How many mods get moved from worklogs to completed mod gallery a month? Mods take a long time to complete, so we wouldn't really be able to hold a competition every month, without mods being "recycled" or similar.
Although, it could be a good way to bring in new members/traffic/ad revenue...although by the looks of how things went on some "other" sites, the people would come in for the competition/prize and wouldn't be much for developing a community, as the prize is the only goal for most.
