Running Fans Without Guts

Hi All,

I have no idea what response this question will get but...... is there a way to run your installed fans (with power supply installed) without the "guts" of the computer? Just so I can take some action shots with the lighting up and running.

I was not going to install a full computer into every case I mod, so this would be a great way to still see the desired effect? :think:

Definitely. Connect the fans as normal, and then jump the green and black wires together on the motherboard connector for the power supply. PSU will spin up.

Alternately, a PSU tester will do this also, and confirm normal function of the power supply at the same time. I recommend having one if you have lots of hardware to deal with. :)

errr. The correct cell phone charger or any 110v transformer that puts out 12v will power a fan.

just make sure the amps are enough.
