Yea Im a new user and I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a water block for the XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX Video Card because I am planning on liquid cooling my computer this summer.

All replies welcome.

Thank you for your time.

There won't be a specific water block but ones make for 8*** series cards should work. I think Danger Den may have a block that will fit and possibly the Swiftech MCW-60 with G80 mounting plate.

EDIT: This should also work.

No problem, glad I could help.

One thing though. I don't think there are any full coverage blocks for the 8600GT's which means you will probably have to use RAM sinks for the RAM chips, the cooler will only cool the core.

I have a D-Tek Fusion block on my XFX 8600GTS. I believe EK has a full coverage block for the 8600's but you'll have to take a picture of it without the fan/sink and email it to EK to confirm compatibillity. The 86's dont have the cover over the gpu like the 88's do so the G80 mounting plate wont work. You wont need it anyway. The EK full coverage block was just over $100 when i was looking. My D-Tek cost around $70 and the prices for other blocks float around $50-60.

but i took a closer look at the EK waterblocks and it says that it is not compatible so i guess ill go with the MCW60 + G80 adaptor plate, and some ram sinks for it as well.

Nice choice, I am using an MCW-60 and Swiftech RAM and Mosfet sinks to cool my 8800GTX.

you dont need the G80 adapter. Only the 88's need that. The 86's use the standard 4 hole layout like all the previous 4 hole nvidia cards.

Even if it doesn't the G80 adapter plate only cost me $12.00AUD to buy as an extra, you could even make your own.
