Ok, this worklog is going to be about my second mod which will really be 2 for one.

Here is the donor Pc. Nothing special, just a Gateway with windows Me and a 20Gig hdd, and a Pentuim III.

As you can see I couldn't stand the thought of leaving ME on there so I immediately loaded Ubuntu Linux.

The idea here is to take bothe the case and the monitor and place a newer system in each resulting in 2 PC's. One for each of my boys. Each pc is to have a touch screen mounted in it for general purpose use but will have the capability to add other monitors down the road. If the boys buy them.

Here are a few more shots of the donor cases.

For these mods (this mod) I will utilize some prize dumpster finds and attempt to give both pc's an industrial look.
I don't have any drawings yet but will see what I can do to remedy that. In the meantime I would appreciate any and all comments. And before someone busts me for blatantly stealing Don't Fear's Idea I admit that the idea was too much to pass up and I give him full credit on that part  ... that being said I do not intend to copy his every step and hopefully my work will distinguish itself from "Moditor (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13823)" while still paying homage for the idea.

Other than that all comments are welcome as I will need all the Ideas I can get.

Touchscreens? Is there a pratical application for 'em?

I use a touchscreen laptop at work and am always finding myself trying to use it when at home. basically it acts as a mouse for any program. If I wanted to eliminate the keyboards I could even find a keyboarding program like in handheld PC's or PDA's. :bunny:

This being my kids though I think I will stick to a standard keyboard at least for now.
