I'm a student Mechanical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology :D
finishing my BSc. this year, and will then continue with my master (not sure which one yet...)

On Saturdays and when I have time (vacation) I work at a smithy, actually, I don't really know how to call it in english, but they make almost everything from metal, as long as it looks nice. think about gates, chimney-top-thingies, woodstove things and all that. Check out some pictures on their website: www.siersmederij.nl (http://www.siersmederij.nl)

Working there is especially handy when you need to get some (small) amount of metal or bolts and nuts and stuff :D

I currently work 3 jobs. One full time and two part time.

My "official" Title at my main job, MCE (http://www.mce.com), is "SR Systems Architect", but that changes on a monthly basis. It is a small company so I wear many hats. I am currently setting up a couple of manufacturing lines for servers, workstations and custom rack builds. I also do QA, Technical documents, Pre-sales engineering, onsite support, training, and in house technology reviews.

One of my part time jobs is supporting a couple of small companies server rooms (more like closets...), but it only takes a couple hours a month.

My other part time job is as a personal chef. I currently have 2 clients that I cook for a couple hours a week. This job does not make me much money right now, but I get to learn a lot and spend time with friends and family. I hope to build on this business and when I get tired of working in the computer rat race, I can fall back on it.

I always remember what my Adopted Dad told me; "If you are not THE best at what you do (in the top 5 in the world), learn to do many things and you will always have a job".

This advice has always kept food on the table.

I work at a credit union.

My technical title is Member Service Represenative III (lead teller) but I do alot of things outside that job role. I am an understudy in our IT department while I work on my A+ and other certifications, and I maintain a number of our electronic systems.

Well now I'm a mechanical engineering student, and I'm at college most of the time. But when I'm in hometown I work at a party supply store. Best minimum wage job, I have a lot of fun and like almost everyone that works their. The managers seem to like me too, probably because I usually actually do good work. That doesn't pay enough and I can't get enough hours so I am hoping to get a second job.

1. I work at Mercy Suburban Hospital, unpaid as a medical student currently as an ER Doc where I get the initial history and physical exam of patients coming to the ER for help. Then I get to perform small procedures like stitching up lacerations and putting on casts. Just yesterday I got to help drain 60mL of pus out of one dude's knee. Weeeee!

2. I am technically still on the staff of the Shawnee Co. Coroner's office in Topeka KS as an autopsy technician. I got that job during the first year of med school following a short 2 week clerkship there. I assisted in autopsies and Dr. Mitchell even let me perform a couple myself (woohoo!)

3. I work for TBCS as an admin where I make millions of dollars per yer, fly on private jets all over the world while sipping Krystal champagne, date fashion models, and lay the foundations for a new world order. This is only a part time job though.

I'm also an install technician for a local IT company. That just means that I get to carry the heavy boxes. Fun.

Oh. and I'm a moderater at TBCS where I make tons of money, drink non-alcoholic champaigne (because I'm not 21 yet), fly in private jets and get ALL the ladies. Oh yeah.

I'm the pilot (not a moderator, they gave me the best job they could.)

I'm pretty sure I make around $2000 per flight from the TCBS airstrip in nevada to the japanese electronics dealership. Not to mention the tips... oh the tips.

I am also a high school student/secret agent. I've also made some short films that have been uploaded to atomfilms (that I have yet to see a dime from, but it's a good hobby).

Other than that, I only have my fabulous inheritance I got when my obscure aunt died. It was only $250K, but I put it all in google in 1998.

I only drink the finest non-alcoholic french champagne.

But as soon as night falls, I put my contacts with the vendors to work and get the champagne.

And Airbozo, sorry about the cheap stuff, that's all my contact had. :D

I did make a sort of 'new job' thread for my previous job here (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5105) but the links are all dead now. To see what all the fuss was about, take a look (http://http://www.ams-neve.com/Products/Products.aspx).

At least you have sidewalks and a tire. When I first started working on TCBS island, the best "they" could do was 3-9 inch deep muck and wooden bicycles with no rubber on the wheels. Luckily I played the system and my hostage plan worked out (promote me to private jet pilot or you'll never see boblbee or doom3 again!). I won't get into that, though.

I won't go into details, as the details are irrelevant. Suffice it to say that it is very hard to take any pride in my work, given that my job is to fight the Darwinian process by helping stupid helpless people to prosper, thereby being more likely to procreate. I am very well compensated (financially), but working 13-hour nights doing what I do is a drain on the soul and serves to constantly stomp on whatever tiny spark of hope in humanity that I may have from time to time. Evolution is there for a reason, and I get paid to fight it.

Good guess, but no. I work at a large transportation company, we haul all kinds of freight all over the US. I'm the guy that our drivers call when they break down. Or think they break down. Or want to break down. Or want to whine and cry for their mothers. We have four thousand trucks in the fleet and two people to handle them for thirteen hours a night.

I was proud of where I worked and what I did for a living. I work for the company responsible, but not in that department. This is terrible. I know it's made international news (at least North American) because I saw it on CNN also.

However, the day before I heard about that incident, at another mine in the area, one of these ran over a pickup:
http://www3.telus.net/indyracer27/797.png
Obviously, the driver of the pickup didn't stand a chance. It's EXTREMELY rare for one of these trucks to get into an accident and I was surprised it didn't even make the National news.
