Now you can! (http://chiliahedron.com/ballroom/)

It'll cost me $2300 to make my room a ballpit.

It would cost me $47000 to fill my apartment, and $6100 for my bedroom. Totally do-able. That would be awesome.

Well I'm in a small dorm room, so maybe about $3000 if I were to fill the whole room. Don't think the roomy would like that so probably only half of that. My bedroom at my house is bigger so that would definitely be more. And I would probably fill the entirety of the big bedroom at home. I have to say that is one of my favorite of the xkcd comics.

I almost did this.
I had priced the balls and everything but then funding it fell through.

There is another link to someone who actually did it and it looks really sweet. I can't seem to find it though.

Definitely a cool idea.

To fill my house (1200 sq feet) to a depth of 4 feet (2 would only be a tease) would cost ~$52k, and my marriage...

And then the divorce would probably cost more than the ball pit.

But would it be worth it?

I found the link to the people that did it.
They just did a small version but it still looks like a good time.

Oooh, only 2k for filling a 10x12 room, at 1.5 feet depth with 3 inch diam balls.

Then again my room has a bunk bed, two dressers, and an 8 foot work table. Heh.

Also 10x12 foot room is 120^2 feet right?

My room is only about 8x10 so at $.25 per ball with 3 inch balls two feet deep, it'd be about $400

You would never have to vacuum your floors again! Okay, yeah, they would get pretty gross. You would. I would want a ball pit that's around 12 feet deep (unless you would suffocate). Swimming in balls would be sweet, and I bet your heating bill would go down as they should insulate a bit.
