Sanding. And then more sanding. And then a little more sanding. Then polishing. Seriously, I'm building a plexi case from scratch right now, and this is best method I've found. Depending on how rough the edges are to begin with, start with 150-220 grit silicon carbide wet/dry sandpaper, sand it until it is smoother (when to stop with a particular grit is a subjective thing and you'll pick it up). The grits I went through were 150,220,400,600,800,1000,2000. I wet sanded all of it, with the last two I used Mother's Chrome Polish as the wet portion, and when all of that was done I polished it on a buffing wheel on a bench grinder with jeweler's rouge (you can get it at Ace hardware and the like). This last step is critical to getting a really clear shine. You can try the buffing before you go all the way to 2000-grit if you want, it may give you the shine you're looking for after 800 or so and it won't hurt a thing. Heck, try it on a small section after each grit above 600 until you get what you're looking for. No need to sand more than you have to. ;)

I second! It may be a time consuming and annoying process, but we really need a tutorial.
