Very impressive!

Did you do with pencil and paper or did you use your computer?

I wish I had the patience as well. I did this with GIMP.

I don't think I'm supposed to let the cat out of the bag, but Tony Stark is a pseudonym used by Paul Capello. :D

So what you're saying is that Paul and Tony Stark are the same, which means Paul is Iron Man!

UPDATE!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d146/drumthumper5150/ironman2.png

And here's a thumbnailish pic of a drawing that one of my best friends did--it's posted at the offical website's fan art section:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d146/drumthumper5150/wingmansironman.jpg

Chris McNaight. I realize that his name really isn't readable with that screwy font they're using over there. One helluva artist, and his little brother is an aspiring actor in NYC that got a call back from a play. I'll post more when I find out what where and when in case any of ya are interested.

I'm in talks to not only have this dude paint a case in the future, but also allow me to host his work--it's out of this world.

Thanks Paul. Coming from you, that means alot.

It's funny, I can't draw freehand worth a damn either, but sit me down at a computer and feed me either caffeine or alcohol...well, I personally think the results speak for themselves. Chris' artwork, on the other hand, is nothing short of phenomenal--he's done the Ninja Turtles, he took four shots of his Toyota and turned it into an Autobot, drew himself holding his son last year...I really need to get a fire lit under him so this stuff can be properly shared with the world. My jabbering does not do it a bit of justice.

Going to see the movie on Sunday myself. I've heard nothing but great things from people who've seen it already.

Double post. Sue me.

Did a bit of a hack job cutting the swirl to size--this will be fixed in the next iteration. And I'm gonna give this some more color as well.

I wish I had the patience to do this also, but even if I did, I certainly don't have the drawing skills required. AWESOME job! +rep

First revision, red only, two layers. As you can see, I've got a bit of cleanup to do still.

May I ask how are you doing this? (Well I guess I just did there).

Did you draw him with a mouse? A tablet? Or did you just take an original picture and apply a filter in order to get the light black outlines of everything?

I am extremely curious because I can not draw crap with a mouse on a computer. I do relatively well when I have inspiration to pick up a pen or pencil, but I can't even freehand a stick figure without crappy ass lines if I try to use a mouse.

Took an original picture, ran it through the 'picture to sketch' tutorial for GIMP that I upped a while back, and have just snowballed from there. All done with a $20 Logitech mouse. I'd love to get a tablet someday, but that's pretty damn low on the list.

Once I get the coloring where I like it, I'll mess around with bump mapping the sketch portion.

Coming along nicely, if I do say so myself.
