I want water reservoir above components. How can I protect them?

At the moment I am in designing stages for a scratch built case and in the design I want a water reservoir above the components so that it flickers in a type of window.

How can I protect the computer components from any spillage of water or the fatal fall of the tank. I just want to make sure they will be safe and want to know your opinions or ideas.

The case design is like a rectangle standing up and the reservoir is designed for the top; other components like Motherboard etc I want in an easy accessible place down the bottom.

Possible ideas depend on how catastrophic of a failure you want to protect from.

A slanted plastic awning could direct any leakage away (just a simple slanted piece of plexi glass below your tank and above your components would serve as a splash guard) however for a larger leak it will eventually pool around your equiptment.

Invest in a quality tank to avoid leaks... Go with something premade to be water-tight instead of home built for this piece. Good product I found were glass jars from hobby lobby, they hold a lot and seal tight, I just punched my connectors through the lid and layered the sealant.

I think if you brace the tank with steel, like to hold it up, and to attach it to the sides-that will hopefully keep the tank secure. Just make sure it is properly welded or screwed in place.
