It could enable new "ram" that doesn't need energy to store data. Sweet. I think we all know what this means!

I think it means long term storage with ram-like speeds. whoo!

On a more personal level, my OS would load faster, my games would play quicker, and file transfers from the hard drive to the ram (loading) would lessen or disappear altogether.

Too bad we're probably going to have to wait a while for this to come about. Like several years, probably. But hey, progress is a great thing.

Yes it is, it will be interesting having combined RAM/HDD.

Computers would be a lot less complicated with combined RAM and hard drive space. File I/O would be a lot faster.

And it seems PC's will require a hell of a lot less power than they do today.

This is going to be so expensive when it first comes out, but totally worth it. It's like flash memory only smaller.
