Ok so planning has started I'm going to be doing a simple (That's code for my first mod of any type ever) paint job. Took some quick snapshots last night of some stuff thought I'd get started with my post.

This is a case I've actually had for years now. Was the first case I ever bought and built a computer in. I think it's still a pretty solid case just needs alittle sprucing up.

The Paints I plan on using. Primer, Satin Black, and Mettalic Red, purchased the little spray gun addon to help with the process.

Here's a Side/Front view of the case i'm going to be painting. I had already started to sand some when I decided to keep a log.

Mostly broken down taking out the removeable motherboard tray.

Chassis of the case and Motherboard Tray everything gutted.

Crappy MSPaint idea of what I wanna do.

Sorry pics aren't great yet. Was taken with camera phone in my poorly lit garage after a good night of drinking.

Took a couple better pics. The line on the right side of the case on the side view is cause I didn't close the panel all the way. Took the removeable motherboard tray out and painted it Red also now. So that's drying. Gonna sand/clear coat it tommorow more then likely.

Here was my first paintjob, it was a learning experience. I learned that I should read before doing.

Jump right in. Painting is the best.

Here's the basics:

sand with 600 grit to prep the surface
spray some sandable primer
sand the primer with 600 grit
then paint your color coats
clear coat
wetsand with 1000 grit
another clear coat
wetsand with 1000, then 1500, then 2000
then buff out with a little 3M rubbing compound

Sanding it taking me a bit. Have one side panel done, started on the other side panel that has the top on it also.

Been kinda rainy here lately so haven't had much outside time to sand it either.

I'm taking it down to the metal. Looks kince nice/neat all silver metalish.

I'm still debating on what I want to try and paint on it and the best way to do that.

Thought about just some simple X type design on the sides of the case and maybe something similar to match on the front.

I'm at work currently I'll try to MSPaint a crappy idea of what I have in my mind so you guys can have an idea also :)

Added a crappy MSPaint pic done in like 10 minutes here at work of what I'm thinking the paint theme will be.

Finished sanding all the metal parts I plan on painting (IE Top/Sides) just need to wet sand the front plastic.

Then I can work on getting it in primer and painting it.

Painted this weekend. Only have crappy cell phone pics from the poorly lit garage atm.

The metal sides/top look nice to me. The plastic front didn't come out so well. I have to get alittle more black to finish up the front. then I'm debating on painting the back of the chasis red also.

went to Lowe's during my lunch break. Got more black satin to finish the front. Also picked up 2 cans of clear coat to start that.

I'll try to get better pics of tonight or tommorow.
