I'd personally not recommend overclocking laptops unless they're designed for it. Most laptops have overclocking options disabled and it's near impossible to unlock them without voiding the warrenty.

I would say start by disabling all unnecessary processes, and running a defragmentation of the hard drive. Also, check your power options.. it might be slowing the processor to increase battery life.

I have an Asus R1F tablet, and found it VERY slow at first. After just tweaking Windows, it's now running at a much more acceptable level. :)

Like he said, overclocking options are locked. I've never seen a laptop unlocked...

If you're running on battery windows usually downclocks the processor to extend life. If you dont care about a drop in battery life you could probably find a way to disable that
