The $250 gift card I received from Maximum PC for the Superbee making Rig of the Month went to buying this 22 inch Acer P223wd, which retails for $249 from Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009124). With Free shipping it cost me nothing. :)

The Monitor comes in a sweet white casing that was a perfect match for my R2-M5 PC.

The specs are:

Maximum Resolution......................1680x1050
Display Colors..............................16.7 million
Contrast Ratio.............................2500:1
Response Time.............................5ms
Inputs........................................DVI, VGA
Dimensions (WxHxD)......................22.4" x 18.5" x 4.7"
Compatibility................................Mac & Windows

The back has connections for VGA and DVI as well as the power connection. The monitor also features a 100mm VESA mount, so you can hang the display on your wall for maximum effect and great use of space. The vents are back here too. It seems as though vents near the top would be smarter since heat does rise. All the cables that come with the LCD are white! It really adds to the clean look of it.

The front buttons are the same as you’d expect. There’s also "e" button for quickly changing between (User, Text, Standard, Graphics, Movie) default color/brightness schemes.

In the dark it seems especially dark, but vivid so that’s not a knock. I tested the monitor with PCMark05 and here are some shots.

The screen is reflective just as many monitors are going, and it really shows in direct light. The monitor view is still very sweet! The viewing angle seems to sharp as well.

When I zoom way in (with Peggle) I can see the lines, but not with my eyes.

Pros:
Sleek white case
Nice specs for the price
All cables are white to match!

Cons:
Reflective gloss screen
The power button doesn’t always turn on with the first push
Vents are on the back bottom near the cables.

Rating: 9.5 out of 10

I have two of those monitors, the black ones though, and I love them. They perform very well, and look amazing. Nice review.

Cheers

That is a sexy ass monitor. For some reason, white equipment just looks better and better to me lately..

I actually prefer the glossy screens too.. *shrug* :)
