Project Xtreme

Hey all, New to the forums here and modding in general. This is going to be my first project called Xtreme. I will be modding parts internaly such as PSU, CPU, etc.

The theme is all black with Blue glow based around UT2004. The Logo will be painted onto the side and there should hopefully be a mobo tray based on UT2004.

Oh and stupid of me to forget, i will of course be modding the case. Plenty of light and Glowing parts. Lots of detail and watercooling....Maybe..

Nice case there titch, i sugest two lovely windows in there, one on the top and one on the side(which you look at the most)

What about stealthing those drives, they look ugly, if you have kept the covers what you took out when making the case that would be great!, if not there will be another alternitive.

Water cooling, great idea, it would glow the case up nicely, what some modders here have done was to get like plexy tubes to hold the cooling liquid in and mounted it on the top of the case, ewww i don't like that, What about having a nice feature where the water cooling tubes pop out here and there around the case, that would look nice.

Any other thoughts on what you want to do?

Have a few scetches before you start fully getting into moddin the case, as you may screw it up, but if you plan it, it will come out great.

Hey guys thanks for your replys.

ovy - I am stealthing those drives today hopefully, got some nice paint to go over them. Black of course.

Last night i began installing and tidying up the inside of the case. I went to maplins earlier that day and bought some sleaving for the cables:

some cable ties and, not relevant, a AKASA Socket A Fan which i have to say runs like a peach. Super quiet.

Surprisingly i put it on max with the PSU on max also and boy....
I had been playing COD on max settings for about an hour. The CPU reached a scary 68 degrees centigrade. So i turned up max and it cooled it down to 42. That is some crazy ****.
LOL :p

Anywayz here are some shots of the case cleared up a little. Added the sleaving and new fan.

I need some help though. It still looks a mess. Everything is a clutter. Those cables connecting the floppy to the motherboard and the harddrive and everything...Sheesh.
Techniques for tidying up a little???

ok dude ur getting on to a nice start some solutions i have seen for cable mess is to make a mobo cover or to run them behind the mobo tray and for a question where do u get the cooling fan for ur proccesor

Try getting rounded cables for the floppy and IDE drives, or you could make your own rounded cables.

Anywayz i have finished stealthing the drives. However i think my computer may have cought a virus and is now in repair. :omg: Very unhappy at the moment so am now posting from my laptop.

Pictures are all on there so updates will be limited for 2 or 3 days. Will post plans and ideas for me comp though.

Thanks you guys for the ideas on cable tidying. I have seen rounded cables and might get some nice neon blue ones to match the cases theme. Just awaiting also on my graphics card which i ordered from ebay. ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256mb - Just 65 pounds. That's a pretty damn good deal i reckon.

I wish Maplin was over here on the other side of the pond...They stock some of the best stuff (that we have to hunt high and Low for or give-up and order of the net!), to walk in and pick up the bits n bobs you need and go home and use is Great! Instant gratification, For some of us we wait on the Post man ...ALLOT! :?

Yeh man i feel your pain. I know there are things that many people can pick up from their local store that i have to order. Tis a serious pain. However, waiting hightens anticipation which will make modding ever more delightful.

I hate to say this but i am maybe considering buying a new case and using that one. Using the case that my computer is in currently is a pain cus i can't use it whilst waiting for things to dry. Not only that but my sis is connected via my computer to the internet. When i disconnect she doesn't get anything either.

I hate to say this but i may delete and consider getting a new case. Plus i would also like to do everything better. My paint on this computer, i didn't wait long enough for paint to dry cus i am too excited. :D .

If i do everythnig properly without the pressure of getting it back together so it willl work it should be a much better mod.
