View Full Version : Disappointed about Vector Magic

I scanned a simple logo I had drawn on paper, uploaded it onto Vector Magic (http://vectormagic.com/) (im sure many of you have used it before), vectorized it and went to download. It said I had "Two download tokens left". I ignored it for then but went to download several more vectorizations and guess what? They wanted me to sign up for their new service! (which costs ~$30) I've been using vectormagic for well over a year now and it was my favorite tool for vectorization.

Well on to the point: Does anyone know of a free vectorization program that works similarly to Vector Magic?

Thanks,
Indybird

Very cool site.. i wish I had heard of that sooner! I've never used it..

I have (in the past) used Photoshop to manually create vectors from images.. it's a slow process, and can be difficult at times. I'll keep my eyes open for a free one similar to Vector magic. :)

Just for fun, and completely off topic, check out the Rasterbator! (http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/) Yes, it's safe for work. It's a program to blow up images into HUGE posters.. hard to explain, but once you try it, you'll see what I mean. I've blown up a few images and made posters, and it's very cool. :D

Yeah I've heard of Rasterbator before. I've wanted to use it, but I can't think of anything to Rasterbate. I feel very dirty talking about all this rasterbation :p.

Interesting! Looks like the perfect thing to make stencils from images.
A program for Rasterbating? :D

All i could find are free trials on Download.Com
The program Magic Tracer (http://www.download.com/MagicTracer-raster-to-vector-converter-/3000-6677_4-10452405.html?tag=lst-3&cdlPid=10649620) looks the best IMO.
