I have one lol, but that one olny comes with 1 8800gt, I either need 1 8800gtx or 2 8800gt's. You can get them way cheaper on the outlet

You mean you already have one of those crappy Dell machines??? I can see why you want a new PC.

Why don't you get a 9800GX2? spend the bit extra. This way you still have SLI but you are only using a single PCI-e slot, room for expansion later down the track.

You could always get yourself another 8800GTX, they still perform pretty well in SLI.

Depends on how much you want to spend?

its at the upper part of your price but worth it IMO, it leaves room for sli down the road and has what you want, quad core and 4gb's ram. i didn't put in a case since thats up to what you like. but there sure is alot of combo/instant rebates and mail in ones.

150 in instant rebates and 50 in mail in ones.

You gonna mod the case? or you want something cool?

I want something cool, Nice build though. Don't 2 things I don't need vista ultimate, Home premium is enough, Also don't need the second hard drive. Don't need a lot of storage. I like the corsair dominator though.

How would that perform on cooling ect?
Also would the graphics be better with 2x 8800gt's?
Thanks

i can't really say on that, but with a 9800GTX you have the option later down the road to get a second, then third one. i know that will beat 2 8800GT's, or should...

the only reason i picked ultimate was because the egg didn't have a single copy of 32bit vista..... they have a builders pack with 3 copies but i doubt u need it.

and i wasn't sure on the hard drive space so i would just take the 1 500gig drive or if you really don't need that much then the single 250 is a great single drive.

and with the "downgrade" to premium and single hard drive that leave room for extra cooling and a case. i would get the thermal right ultra 120, ultra 90 or a arctic cooling freezer 7 pro. which makes room for overclocking :)

So I decided to check the dell outlet one last time for the day, And whats there? Just what I wanted.
Xps 720
Black
750 watt psu
q6600
Dual 8800gt's
Ageia Physx Card (don't even care lol)
2 gigs of ddr 800
Vista Home Premium
250g Hd 7200 rpm
Even LOTRO for some reason, God only knows. It was only 100 dollars more than the other one.

Get 4 GB of RAM if you are running Vista. You will get a huge performance boost. I am picking up another 2GB for my rig today lol.

But they look AWESOME lol.

So would seven grand in unmarked twenty dollar bills. lol

Even Falcon Northwest is like a minimum of like three grand. I guess they don't call them luxury pc's for nothing!

Side Note: Falcon Northwest has some sweet website music! (http://www.falcon-nw.com/)

I know what you mean. For the same price or in most cases cheaper you can make the equivalent and mod a case to your own personal tastes.

OK played around on Newegg and built a system spec that has the Q6600 cpu, 2G DDR3 ram and ... BFG Tech GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB Vid card for $1449.91 after mail in rebates. OK it's $50 bucks over your upper limit but .... its got the 9800GX2 "the first card that can play crisis smoothly at 1,680 x 1,050" - and you can SLI it next time you have $500 laying around :D

Keeping in mind that adding another GX2 would mean a PSU upgrade also. I would also get the 64bit version of Vista in case he decides to add some more RAM later down the track.
