I'm moving the power switch for my PSU to a knob on the front of the case. This is a standard ATX power supply. Does the power switch see a full 110 volts and full amperage? What gauge wire should I use to extend the switch? After I soldered in 24 gauge wire, I realized that likely wasn't sufficient but not sure what is. Round trip distance is no more than two feet.

After thinking about it, I'll likely cut up a power cable and solder that in. The gauge has to good enough if it's already carrying full current. Anybody see a problem with this approach?

I assume you mean the switch on the rear of the PSU? It will carry full mains voltage, and the wire from a power lead will be just fine.

Yes, the switch on the back of the psu and thanks for confirming.
