I have a hundred led's that i want. They cant be powered by the computer psu though, so they will be powered by a 12v battery or something like that. I have one hundred, and these are the spec's 3mm voltage 3.2-3.8v mcd 5000. Whats the best small way to power them, and they are in clusters of 10 if that helps. What resistor strength would i need?

Sorry for all the questions, im just confused when i try to use the calculators :(

thanks so much -taintedplay

What's the reason for not using the PSU? These would be VERY easy to wire into a spare molex. Your resistor value depends on a few things:

1. Number of LED's in the array
2. Forward voltage (in your case, 3.2-3.8v)
3. Diode forward current. This value is registered in Milliamps (mA)

the reason is that its not part of the case im modding. Its a standalone project, where i dont have the space to have a large psu.

thanks for the link!

Cool. You know that we still want to see it right? Even if you just PM me some pics. I love LED projects. You're very welcome for the link.
