Just a quick question is it possible to switch the led in this schematic drawing (http://www.rabidhardware.net/?id=5) (<- link) for a UV led?

Absolutely!

Double check your voltages and watch for "Welder's flash" if messing around with UV leds, some are strong enough to harm your eyes.

This is what I should have done on the ring on the side of my Saturn project, except an continuous round cycle. I have the hardware to finish that project off, and Ive started on a few more am eager to show you all.
