Last year I was working for a company on a contract, however they decided to outsource my work to someone else. A couple of months later, my 'boss' got an email from the new techie asking how to get into the router, and he forwarded to me and I told my boss what I thought was the password.

Today I receive an email from the techie asking for the password (again) and I responded with what I thought was the password, a few minutes later, I get another email asking what was the username for the router. I just had to laugh as I never changed the username for that router, and he gave me 4 'options'. This is why you never outsource work I've done.

I have seen several situations along that same line, EXCEPT it ended up costing them dearly for the information. (Just a little food for thought :D )

If I get asked to come help, I'm making sure they know very well that I'll be charging them a base fee and after an hour, an hourly rate on top.
