Damned pc....

I'm having some real problems now. I can boot up the pc and open dvd drives but thats it. The monitor wont display(goes right into sleep mode) And the keyboard wont turn on.Im not too worried about the pc as I am about the hundreds of family pictures and videos stored on it.

Put the HDD with the pictures on it into another computer and copy them all over. ;)

Try something like Knoppix and see how you go with that.

The only problem is i wouldnt even be able to reformat or install linux because the monitor doesnt display and the keyboard wont work. As for the hard drive, I dont even know if thats the problem or not. Also before the monitor goes into sleepmode it says VGA disconnected even though it is and it had always said that.

Well, all the pictures are on the HDD and if you move it to another PC you'll have access to the HDD and the pictures and such. :P

And as to the keyboard, try a different one. I had this **** motherboard that wanted me to go into the BIOS every time at bootup otherwise the keyboard wouldn't work.

Knoppix is a Live distro, no need to install.

Woo my pc works again! I dunno what fixed it it just works.
