check this thing out!!!
I thought it was sweet
The OCZ Neural Impulse Actuator (http://www.2cooltek.com/ocz-neural-impulse-actuator-oczmsnia-actuator-oczmsnia-new-oczmsnia.html)
Anyone think it has potential?
I can see myself using it.. Just think of TF2 with one of those bad boys :)
like triple the response time, it'll like fire when it senses a muscle tensing up, or something like that...

I'm scared of that technology.

No, it's an actual product.

I'm scared of that technology.
scared..?
Why? cause it might take over your body and turn you into some psychotic cyborg mass-murderer? Possible, but not likely..
It won't happen...
yet..

Clicking a mouse and thinking about eliminating a virtual enemy are 2 different things.
I can see positive sides for this technology, but I'm worried about some of the people who don't really need it.

hahaha, well i sometimes get really into my games, mostly Half-life and Team Fortress 2...
It's really some wild stuff
Sooner or later they'll be making gloves that can be used to control in-game motions of the hand, most likely for FPS games, and stuff like that

A glove.. like this.

That thing sucks. The powerglove, I mean... The neuro-impulse thingamadoohickey looks like it could have some unused potential (much like a physics proc).

Luke will probably slip it down his shorts and play some Leisure Suit Larry...

That's pretty cool... if I had some disposable income and had the time to play games a lot, I'd probably buy one... but I have neither so I won't, lol. I can't wait to see where this technology goes in the next couple decades though... it should turn out awesome.

Yeah, sooner or later someone is gonna be able to make a device attached to your head that shoots when you think the word "shoot" or something...
could be interesting!

Not sure if they would have to take over my body to do that.

I wouldnt get one its not worth the money For it to work effectivly it would have to be mounted under your skull. As your skull tends to block frequencys above 25hz It also picks up facial movements so biting your teeth could be assigned to the frag key Plus for this to work you would have to have your mind completely focused on the game and nothing else to avoid accidental blowing yourself up.
Its a good idea but a bit to gimmiky and not advanced enough to give you the edge in games.

Sounds like good times on SIMS. But I could see it hard to do the right thing when needed.

I can picture someone wearing it during a thunderstorm and...

wow! after 4 Rockstar drinks (my normal day) I wonder what my response time would be, and what it would pick up on...
and you know someone would hack the drivers to include in-game farts or something stupid.

They reviewed this on Attack of the Show and it looks like it could be fun but takes a lot to get used to. I reacts to movement on the face and head rather then with your brain. My wife and I were cracking up watching them do the review.

Having some issues connecting to the videos looks like site issues.

I can see some serious potential for a quadrapoligic or someone who cannot use their arms or hands. It should be able to be used for more than just games too. If it simply associates brain waves with keystrokes. they its just a matter of time till they develop a version that you can just think about typing on a full keyboard and it does it.
It almost seems kind of shallow of them to market it toward "Gamers" and not physically challenged people.
