Oh snap! It seems it's got a 'scan' for it now, but it's still great! Mac users can't use their reasoning for being more secure now xD;

wow...that's hilarious.
"it can even take a picture of you"... what hacker would want that? Just receiving all those pictures would crash his computer lol

There's the huge downside of standardized components: a trojan only has to include one webcam driver!

I don't get the big deal here, and I've never understood the bashing of either OS.
I will point out that what this comes down to is user ignorance. The trojan needs to be physically downloaded and ran, unlike many Windows trojans that can cause issues without ever needing user input. If you don't download and run executables from sources that aren't trustworthy, you really aren't going to have an issue with this trojan.

It could just be going to a bad website, but some type of input is always required, regardless of whether it's in windows, or mac os, unless you have a downloader installed.

When active, AppleScript.THT exploits a recently outlined Apple Remote Desktop Agent vulnerability. The malware runs with a root user and system-wide account with full privileges used by the operating system. It then adds itself to the System Login Items to launch the Trojan every time a Mac is restarted

Funny thing is viri have been around for Apple software for a long time, just as the market share shifted, so did the attention of malicious users.
The issue is Mac users have basically two user groups, super advanced and super oblivious. People either seem to know every detail of the Mac OS, or they have a Mac because... "it works" Where as with windows you have more of a rainbow of user skill. The issue for writing malicious code for the Mac is you are targeting a subset of a small population to begin with.
It's security through obsecurity which is less than ideal. But it seems to make some Mac users feel safe.
