I never plugged in my Blu-Ray drive because R2 is a nightmare to work inside, but today I figured what the hell. I got it plugged in and powered up and then my computer wouldn't boot. It gets to the:

"Verifying Boot Data......"

And it stops. I thought I blew my HD while working on it, but I unplugged my Blu-Ray and it booted fine. My configuration is:

Abit IC7-G

SATA connection #1 - Primary HD
SATA connection #2 - Secondary HD
SATA connection #3 - Blu-Ray ROM
SATA connection #4 - empty

It seems like some kind of conflict with the 3rd SATA connection being occupied, but I don't have any other way to use the drive. Maybe this motherboard isn't compatible with Blu-Ray? As long as it's a SATA drive it should work right?

It should work... see if there is a BIOS update for that motherboard.

I had the same problem, my super mulit blue drive refused to let my computer boot when plugged in the SATA 1-6 ports. I had to plug it into SATA RAID port on the motherboard. Then it worked just fine. So it seems that with some mobo's you can't have HD drives in standard SATA ports.
