I am in Dell Hell I have a dell Dimension 8200 mother board with 1gb of RDRAM and a 1.8ghz p4 processor. I also have a power supply for it, but I'm confused.
I'm having a hard time finding a case for the motherboard that fits. I have been told its standard ATX but I'm not sure. Even if the motherboard fits I don't think that the power and reset buttons on a custom case will fit the motherboard front panel connector. If anyone can help me I would be really grateful.

It should have no problem fitting into anATX case. I know that a lot of their newer ones are BTX, but at least some of the placings of screws should be the same. You could just connect the wires if the connection to the motherboard is different. Dell may have a single plug on there, but you should be able to just plug the new power button right into the pins.

You just have to be a little patient, and you are pretty much guaranteed to get an answer here.

If it's a bunch of individual wires with one plastic connector, you're OK. If it's got some sort of single-ribbon arrangement, I'd be a bit more worried.

Got a couple photos of it, particularly the front-panel buttons/lights connector?

The Case is a custom ATX with abunch of wires coming from the power/reset button. On the Dell Motherboard connector its a riboon with about 40pins or so I think. I thought maybe I could be able to connect the numerous wires coming from the case to the front panel connector on the Motherboard.

If you look at the Dell Dimesion 8200 motherboard just below the Hardrive and CD-ROM drive connectors there is a front panel connector. The major thing I don't know is whether or not I can connect the wires coming from the case the the front-panel connector on the stupid Dell motherboard. But I have 2gb RD-RAM already and 2.8ghz processor I would like to build it for another computer.

Honestly, given what RDRAM can go for on eBay (larger sticks, anyway) I'd look into that. Might make enough to go a ways toward a new box.

The only reason I don't sell them on ebay is that I am building it for someone else and they do not want to sell the motherboard or RD-RAM.
