Action Figure Collectors Cabinet.. What you Recommend?
I have just started to collect Stargate Atlantis Figurines and am looking for some kind of display cabinet for them. I am looking for something that is light and looks good so I can display them at full glory.
Also looking for something I can order online and have it shipped to my door. [I live in New Zealand]
Do you guys recommend any good ones?

find a decent coffee table to use as a base and build your own, to your own specs, out of acrylic and led lighting. much more gratifying end result and you get to end up with a piece of custome made purpose built furniature =o)

Well made "Curio Cabinets" are very expensive, however they are properly lighted to show off the objects inside. They are also made to keep them dust -free and looking good. Some even have filtration systems to keep dust under control.

This si a very nice bent glass cabinet, but it's also $3,000.00 US

Yes, they do work very well to keep dust out, een without the filtration systems. And the lighting is usually pretty good.

Yeh probably a bit too expansive for me. However I never thought about the Coffee Table idea. I will have a look around a bit more I think and see what I can find.
Thanks for your input *bookmarks curiocabinets*

If it was me, I'd have look around second hand furniture shops see what they've got in the way of bookshelves. Then if I found one suitable I'd head down to the hardware shop and pickup some hinges, some plexi and a latch to make a door if it didn't have one.
The only other thing I'd do is have a look at Ikea. Most of their shelving units allow you to set the shelves a different heights, which I think would be handy for collectibles. Then if it didn't already have one I'd knock up a door like above.
As for dust and lighting, dust shouldn't be a problem if you're prepared to give it a clean every couple of months and lighting would be down to your imagination and creativity :D
Anyway, just some things to consider maybe and my two cents.

Build your own. Showcase your figurines under mini spots.
I wouldn't mind having a collection of them myself.
