i would pick up one of these cards then,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102725

it can handle crysis on medium at 1024x786, i think even at 1280x 1024 but can't confirm it yet.
plus there is a $15 rebate

oops, i assumed he had one, never clicked the motherboard link. good thing they have a agp version then. would be interesting to see how much better the pci is over agp.

How hard are these things to set up? Just wondering since I never had to install one.

Installation is really easy actually.. once you open the case, just remove one screw to pull out the old card, plug in the new one, replace the one screw, close the case, and fire it up.

Once it boots up, drop in the driver cd and follow the steps. It will likely want you to reboot again once it's complete. That's it!

It's a good idea also to check on the manufacturers website for a newer version of the driver once you have the card installed, as driver CDs usually carry older versions of the drivers, and performance improvements can be had by updating.

when you handle the card make sure to touch your (plugged in, but off) computer case.

make sure if you do get that one vitaliy to get the agp version if you motherboard is agp, which is is.

What would be a cheaper option for a card? Like under $50?

I just got the same Sapphire Radeon AGP 3850 512mb (first reply) for $169 CAD. I had this socket 478 mobo kicking around with an AGP slot, and wanted to do something with it, so when I spotted that card, I snatched it up quick.

Must mention though that it has an 8 pin PCI-E connector, so I had to get a new PSU for it also.. but I needed one anyways, so yeah. :)
