So I was at the local shops and the kmart was having a toy special so I went in a got myself a nerf gun on the cheap.

It is the nerf recon cs6

It is basically built around a big pistol that snaps together to become a rifle.

I am thinking of modding it to make it more powerful some how. Also giving just the pistol part a paint job to make it look like a bolt pistol out of warhammer 40k as it kinda looks like one already. What spray paint would anyone suggest for plastic? (So it doesn't eat it away). The local hardware store has like Dulux and Plasticote.

Edit: This should be in idea zone.

Thanks for the link a lot of the mods are pretty hardcore and very risky. I think I will just stick with painting it first.

Ok so I still need to work out which spray paint to use. I think I will use some on the buttstock that attaches separately as I dont care if it melts. Also I will sand all the nerf branding of it. Do you think I could do it with just sand paper I am worried about using a sander as I may melt the plastic. I think it may be time to splash out on a dremel.

Krylon Fusion is a great modding spray paint for metal or plastic.

I broke my twin dart pistol open a few years back and rigged it to attach to the air compressor. I also modded the chamber to take those small rubber squash balls. Man it hurt more than paintball.

I have seen similar nerf steampunk mods around the net lately.
Look like a great conversational pieces.

You may be able to modify your gun to accept a CO2 cartridge,
Like the ones used in cheap paintball guns.
