Mirror's Edge is an upcoming first-person action-adventure video game that is being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows-based PCs. The game will be released on these platforms simultaneously in late 2008.
Powered by the Unreal Engine 3 with the addition of a new lighting solution, developed by DICE. The game has a realistic, brightly-colored style and differs from other first-person perspective video games in allowing for a wider range of actions such as sliding under barriers, tumbling, wall-running, and shimmying across ledges, and greater freedom of movement, in having no HUD, and in allowing the legs, arms, and torso of the character to be visible on-screen.

I saw a preiview of this a month or two ago. it reminds me of a much more fluid version of assassin's creed. I bet on PS3 they will make you have to balance on walkways with the six axis. Thank god I have a 360 and PC that can take it. I read that you cannot carry many weapons only a big one and a pistol. (just like in Oni). I reckon I will buy it. Also DICE is putting it together and they normally have their control systems down. So it should be good.

That looks like an astounding amount of fun. It looks to be a refreshing change to games where the hud IS the game (i'm talking to you, crysis). I will look forward to playing this, it seems that it will be highly flowing and fun. Even though wall running is pretty darn unrealistic. Sure, you can do a little of it, but you can't do prince of persia type things where you navigate a crevasse.
Except they seem to have put bullet time into it, which will completely disrupt the flow. Oh well, I'll still play it probably. I think it will be very different to any game out today.

Think about a two player race across the city. THAT would be awesome.

It certainly looks like an interesting game to say the least.
online servers - max players 1000 - weapons available = gravity changers (imagin some smartass about to jump a building, and suddenly notices that some other player typed "sv_gravity 99999" xDDDD

Hmm... girl at the end of the video looks like my ex gf.. ugh. What a bag.
Game looks wicked though.. i just hope there's more depth to it than just the free-running.

Well I did see her putting the hurt on some guys. So a plot would be good, but solid free running should be a big part of it. I would love to free run, but I don't have the stamina or big city to do it (or the guts.)

looks like a great game, i saw it being played on the G4 E3 08 show (stfu i do watch G4, and i know its not as good as TechTV, i still like it) anyway its very interesting how the only fixed item (like HUD) is a small dot for the aiming reticule. Love the coloring. When damaged the color starts fading in the game to B&W like cod4. im so glad it impliments that, i hate games usually with health bars.

Realistic health? That's awesome. The game actually gets harder when you are near death, then... really cool. Looking forward to it.

My favorite release date is still the Release date for WoW: Wrath of the Lich King at gamestop: Something akin to "we picked an arbitrary date with a combination of d20 dice"
This will definately be on my watch list though, I love games that have different styles of play.

This looks pretty cool, but I'm thinking rock climbing or something would really be more fun, I dunno, I've just been finding ways to enjoy things in real life that I used to do in games. /somewhat OT

Thats a good idea. . a rock climbing or base jumping game.
Then agian I think I would rather do it in real life.

After me and my genius self actually watched the video, that does look pretty cool. I'm tempted to buy it or ask for it as a holiday gift... either that or wait until it goes down to like $30 in a few years.

I hope this game sells, because it is a interesting, new, maybe even revolutionary take on platforming. For this fact alone I hope it sees some support, so more things like this can happen

I would say that this will be better on a console with dual sticks, rather than the on/off type of thing that you get with PC. Hope it will be ported well!
