I'm looking to add some modder's mesh as a fan grill on my case and want to know what other names it might be sold under so I can go to HomeDepot or Lowes and ask for it using the correct vernacular.

Well, what you could do is goto Walmart or Office Max. Buy one of those paper clip holders made out of mesh:

, cut off the bvottom and use a sledge hammer to flatten it out.

Or second-hand stores and buy the junky $4 speakers they have everywhere that have the mesh.

Awesome ideas guys! I hadn't really thought about using the mesh off of those "common" items. Maybe I'll just have a look around the house before I go buy something I already have.

Autozone sells a Front air dam grill mesh stuff (look like a big sheet of modders mesh!). It's Alum and comes anodized in many colors. It come in largish retangle sheets (you cut it to fit your car). And it's not priced to bad either.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but what is generally the best way to cut mesh? Tin snips?

Oh yeah, and does JB Weld work for bonding mesh to most metals in cases?

A jigsaw or scroll saw with metal blades works cleaner I'm sure.
Use tin snips if you have to. Just tap the ends flat with a rubber mallet. Then file and sand to smooth the cuts.

As for your JB Weld question, I'm sure it does, I've just not tried it, so don't take my word on it.
