Supplies:
Current PC
New fans with higher CFM
Hex Mesh with 79% airflow
Fan controllers
USB hub
Plexiglas
Aluminum or Steel
Dremel (xD)
and paint and lighting etc. etc.

So this is my work log for it. Enjoy, or well don't.

Well first thing i did was take it apart, i has pics for that but no point in posting, so here are some pics of the painted mostly case. (the main case needs some touching up due to cutting and moving around....

Next i worked on removing the plastic and cutting a oval out of the top of the case for some mesh to be put there for a fan. It took me 2 days to do it as i had to do it by hand for most of the cutting.... But then i finnaly got dremel and used it :D and sanded it down and such.

A few days later i replaced the old window with a new plexi glass one, to get rid of the ThermalTake logo. I drilled all the holes out and cut it down to about the same general shape as the old window. (not in picture)

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0710080911.jpg

also i did some planing for a external casing for a Ps1 LCD

Oh and i bought a holesaw for where the fan is going on the side of the case.

More to come on Monday when i can get back to work at the school, but im also counseling for a camp next week, so it may be hard to get everything done.

PS. Dont be too harsh, this is my FIRST case mod....

Hehehe.... that is an Armor!
It's what I'm using for Deuce! Fun case to work on! Lots of space!

Good luck, I'll be watching this! Like seeing what others do to these cases!

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0714081446.jpg

and i started the front for an enclosure for a small PS1 lcd :D

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0714081648.jpg

The bottom left corner i think i may fill with apoxy or something to smooth it out as it is bent.

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0714081649a.jpg

Placement of LCD (it will be inside obviously with just the LCD portion showing.)

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0714081649b.jpg

I have about a 145mm x 145mm piece of plexi left from cutting out the window, any ideas for it?

And i also have some BLUE UV paint, and im wondering what kind of design i should do inside my case? i was thinking a tech like design.

Did anyone else read that title and hear the voice from Monty Python say, "It's only a model..."?

Looks like you're off to a good start. One of these days I'll get around to doing a mod with an LCD. Something that I've wanted to do. +rep

w00t finnaly hunted down the mesh. It was hiding in my school. You have no idea how pissed i was until i found it >=(. But i did xD

Anyway it looks pretty good with it "held in place"

Im going to get some U shaped tube to place around the Mesh circle to make it looks much more clean. Same for around the top hole on the case.

Nice and thin :) can cut it with Scissors xD

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0716081541.jpg

I also bent a piece of metal for the bottom and back of the LCD enclosure. i think its looking good :D. Im going to add some venting to the enclosure with the mesh too.

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0716081541a.jpg

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l222/Chewy_Solo/Computer%20related/Case%20Mod/0716081542.jpg

The mesh also was shipped with some 4pin extensions for the LCD. I also purchased a 4pin Y cable but it was some odd 4 pin on the end?? (looks like PWM fan power?) So we will need to get some real Y splitters. (though it did look just like the 4pin wiring just scaled down, so maybe i could do some splicing and stuff?

More updates coming tomorrow hopefully

Good start. That connector on your Y cable is actually the standard 4 pin connector used by floppy drives. Yes I actually have worked with floppy drives, they aren't that old.

the only thing im worried about is if my video card(s) will support the resolution.

My guess is that your four-pin splitter was intended for systems with both a higher-end AGP card and a floppy drive. My x1600Pro, for instance, needed a four-pin FDD power cable, and came with one of those Molex-to-two-floppy splitters.

The LCD housing's looking good - awaiting its installation. :)

Ive never used an AGP card... my first GFX card was my PNY 7600 GS (PCI-e) which i still use for my secondary monitors. Hell i just got into computers and online gaming about 2.5 years ago.

Thanks :) i expect to do some more work on monday

Used to be all that used...then, by the time I got to my current project, the only spare gfx card I had with a DVI connector was an AGP, and I didn't have a free mobo with a slot for one. (I was able to secure one from a friend.) Times certainly change.
