Today was the Monday from hell! I got to work this morning, to find that the UPS on our phone system PBX and network switch rack was DEAD. Completely dead.. will not power up. So, I switched it out to a new one, network was back online, phone system powered up. However, the hdd for voice mail gave up the ghost.. well, it was 20 years old.

Also, all the phone system programming was lost.. all the extensions, voice mail, config, everything. I had to call in the phone vendor to reprogram the system, because I was busy with..

DEAD SERVERS. Two of my servers went down also. We had a major lightning storm here over the weekend, and while not physically damaged, one of the servers has serious data corruption. Yeah, my exchange server. So I was in a panic all day to get email back up and running, and it's still not.

I managed to get the other server running, so at least SQL was up for db users, and the file shares were accessable. But still no email, even now.

So this now explains my other post, about why I have to stay here all night building a server, and moving data. *sigh*

Oh, and my mortgage payment bounced, because my car insurance company suddenly changed policy without notifying me, and took out 3 months of insurance with no warning.

So now I need to deal with the bank's collection department, and hopefully I wont lose my house.

Fortunately for me, I'm the sysadmin, so I just hardcoded a proper IP, and the ISP dns, and I'm online.

Sadly, I'm still installing software on the new server and havent even started data migration yet. :(

I was camping in Sylvan lake this past weekend. The lightning and thunder put on quite a show. I'm sure lots of people had messed up systems after that storm. Good luck with fixing everything.

Oh man.. I cant even copy data out of the exchange box at the moment.. I'm trying to get into safe mode, but it's hanging constantly.. I think there's some damage. :(
