uhhh can some one like

explain the difference between AMD cpus and PENTIUM?

i think i made a huge mistake of buying a 2.2 3400+ cpu to replace my old pentium 2.6

and no its not the socket difference i got a new mobo.

the performance just seems ****tier than the 2.6

what's the like conversion??

im so confused :( help meee

someone correct me if im wrong, but i believe that a 3400+ amd cpu is equivalent to like a pentium 3.4ghz, even though they'll have clock speeds of much lower. basically, amd rules.

... the problem itself does not rely in the processor type only, but also the system... so tell us more and try tweaking the bios and windows... i recently got an upgrade.. and i can tell u that my 1,5Ghz amd kicks even a 2Ghz P4... it's all in the tweaks...

do you know Core you got?

IF you don't know how to find out your CPU core, use a program like CPU-Z to find out. Other system specs would help as we could then identify what maybe causing your preformance loss.

do you mean 3400+ 64? and what socket? amd has 2 or 3 64 bit sockets.

I have an AMD Athalon 64 3000+,and it runs at 1.8Ghz. I was told that mine running at 1.8 would go head to head with a P4 doing 3.0Ghz, is this true?

yes, even a higher cpu, since amd's dont have much of a video bottleneck.
