View Full Version : Fan Grills from Trivets
I recently discovered that ebay is great source of fan grills from an unlikely source; old trivets, either brass or iron.

Some of the designs are amazing and can be had for $5-10.

Looks like an interesting idea. +Rep
I am going to look some up myself.
A cool alternative to mesh. An elaborate design.

Pretty neat! I might have to look around now...
I've got a speaker frame that fits perfectly over my 172mm fan, just trying to figure out which project to use 'em in.
Thanks guys, hope it helps.

Think about what they cost and then ask yourself what they would cost if they were made for computers. Waaaaaaaaaay higher!

West marine has brushes for $70 and up. You can go to Murray's or a hardware store and get a brush that's not quite as nice for $20-$30.
Agreed the price differential is a little frustrating. It's also why SWMBO refuses to go to Home Depot or Lowes with me anymore. She doesn't have the patience when I spend 45 minutes in the plumbing aisle deciding which drain plate that I can mod into a fan grill. :)
