gtx 260 vs 9800gtx

i have decided to get a good gfx card for my current case build and carnt decide on either a 9800gtx or a gtx 260 i would get an ati card but ati makes me spew every time i see one i thort i would jus get ppls opinions on which card they thort was the better of the 2 in terms of price vs performance

yes if you can afford the GTX260 go for that. i just got a 9800GTX and while i love it and its wayyy better than my 8600GT's in sli the GTX260 is better.

oh ya, you will love it. i went from 8600GT's sli to the 9800GTX and its been great so far. i can finally see what crysis is like on high @1600x1200 instead of medium @1280x1024

haha:D sounds like a friend i have:)... "im gonna build the ULTIMATE PC!... im gonna put in a scsi drive beacuse they are stable, 8 gb ram! windoes 64 bit, a phenom x4 9950 (which i wont overclock since it destroys the cpu!!!!!!) and a ati 4850!!!!!!
all in all its a silent media center pc! wich can be used for gaming and wont ever crash!!!

i couldnt stop laugh at him... silent and scsi in same sentence... what a blast...

silent and scsi don't mix,

scsi and stabilty do though, but i think what your friend is refuring to is the Nvidia 9800 GX2 is better than the GTX 260 and 280, but thats only because its basicly two 8800GTS's in SLI and have been overclocked.

the GTX260 is a nice card, in this day and age, and the amount of power, either card would be a good choice as by time the games out strip the peformance of the cards you would have moved onto another card, and prop another interface, PCIx3, or maybe another name?

well my dad got a nivida 260 gtx runs crysis max.. on high i run a ati 4850 they about the same peformance wise.. the 260gtx has a massive heatsink though and price wise is only 20 more then the 9800
