Can any car radiator be used with a PC water-cooling setup?

Do you mean the full front raidator or the heater core?
Heater cores definately. I've got several links on reconditioning them for PC use.

both work well, just make sure you cleaned them before usage, both contain a LOT of dirt, cilit bang or citrus acid (i guess, you know these yellow citrus things, this juice)..
yeah that stuff with water, fill the radiator with it and let it there over night, then you should pump clean water 3 to 5 times through it and the dirt should be gone

Yea. . you can pull several of them right out of any
window type air conditioning unit. They look like this.

you should at least pump some buckets of water through it so the dirt from manufacturing is not in your watercooling loop
and yes thos ac things also work, just check if there is pressure on the system

they will work but aren't as good since the tubes are round and not flat like proper fluid rads.
i would run hot soapy water through the rad first. and just so you know your going to need a better pump with such a large rad. i don't think even a iwaki could keep up to well with a full sized car rad. i would look into pond pumps.

Good to know - I've been considering an aircon rad for a while, figured it'd work.
Will have to hunt Craigslist for free, dead window units...

note that it is illegal to dump the gas in those into the atmosphere. as well as harmful.

Yeah, I can definitely see bags of Freon lying around my garage... :D
If it's R12 I might hesitate, but R134 isn't nearly as bad, so if I find a newer one (post-1994) I'm all set.
