This laptop is a beast. I first read about it earlier today on Retail Edge and lo and behold, I got to set one up at work about 2 hours ago. Quite a monster laptop. Specs at a glance:

Intel T7350 (30% more energy efficient)
4GB PC3-8500 (first laptop I've seen with DDR3)
9700GTS with 512MB VRAM
Vista 32 AND 64-bit (you get to choose which to boot to)
17" Display
4 speakers on the corners with a sub woofer on the bottom

The top is too girly for my taste, what with the pink flames and all, but hey, this computer will dominate most other laptops in the $1500 range. With specs like that, if you get owned online, it's your fault, not the PCs :D.

Or you can get 1/4 of the specs in an Apple and pay double :D

Nice spec.
Agree with you about the flames, in blue or green would look fantastic.
Well if you have enough money you can buy Alienware with extreme procesor and sli.

Only problem I see is the slow processor. 2.0 GHz isn't enough to keep Crysis going.
If they put a better processer in there, say 2.5GHz dual core or more, then it would be a real killer. But until then Alienware has it beat (for a crapload more)

I like it!!

i don't own a laptop but i think that one would be a nice first one :)

i agree about the processor being relatively slow.. 2.5ghz would be nice..

EDIT: by the way, you spelled it wrong :D

It's Qosmio

Honestly, if I were Toshiba I would've gone with "Quasimodo"...

That's all that I think about when I see that computer. We have the Qosmio 701 and the 504 (..I think?) and I like the look of the other one way more. The specs of the Q701 though are pretty killer.

Plus, right now, we have the Q701 on sale for $1399!
