I'd like to put a slot load DVD-ROM and slot load DVD Burner in my upcoming mod, but I can not, for the life of me, find one available.
Does anyone know of a Slot-Load Reader or Writer available for purchase?
I don't care if its slim or not just as long as it reads DVDs @ 16X and burns @ 16+X.
Thanks,
Indybird

Thanks again, but $115 is a little too much for an 8X DVD Burner.
Why on earth did they stop making slot-load drives?

Well thats definitely got the speed...and the slot load... +rep for the find.
I'm not too sure if I want to spend $90 for slot-loading tho.
Thanks,

It's Pioneer.. it's QUALITY. :D
I have a Pioneer DVDRW in Throttle (hiding behind that fancy stealthed front.. I love it. Quiet, fast, and no problems yet.

Well, I just found it for $70 (http://www.directron.com/dvrk06.html). Thats better...
@ $70 I might get it, but it isn't on the top of my list.

i used to have a slot load dvd writer, that could hold upto 5 DVD's at the same time, it could read/write to 2 discs at a time,
I loved that drive, shame i can't use it anymore, it was scsi ultra and was bloddy good, but it broke when my machine it was in blew up!
Froogle is handy for comparing price point

Yeah slot loads are hard to come by. I have a slot load CD drive that came with the scrap left on what is to become Heavy Water, but it is slow... useful for a hidden drive but yeah I have only seen a few in 10 years come across my workbench.

Make sure you get a converter so you can plug it into a standard motherboard. They make sata ones now!
