The Cube (thinking of better name)

well this will be my first post here at TBS.

I am planning to make a aluninum case and make it a cube.
4 of the 6 sides are going to be one piece of metal just bent.
the other sides will be flat.
now the cool part is that all you will see minus the cables will be the power button.
when you power up the box the 2 sides will open up with acutators and expose the cd drives and ventalation for the case.
there will be a 1/4 inch gap between the 2 edges of the large peice where plexi will be and glow a color same as the power button and the vents when open.
the case wil stay aluninum finish and the mesh on the vents will be black the pics are just a 3d sketch and not final colors.

this will be my first case made but not my first mod i have done blowholes, windows, and painting before.

please leave me your comments i look forward to them.

first off "blowholes"? seconf the idea with the actuators sounds awesome yet very technical and the thought of it gives me instantly like a bajillion ideas for future mods lol i look forward to seeing how this turns out i definently think u should go ahead with it. one final comment- wont it get annoying having the drives pop out whenever u turn the pc on? maybe u should have a second button to make them pop out. Also, if I may? Have you ever seen 2001 - A Space Oddysey? Making the power button in black and red, to remember Hal's "eye" would look awesome on a case like that.

well the drives comming out is what gives the box air flow or else it would olny have like fans in the back because i dont want any on the sides or top.

and a blowhole is another term for a fan on the top of a case.

now the only prob i need to figure out is how to tell the sides to close when the box shuts down i might jut have to put a close button on the back or somthing.
