OK, so heres the deal.
My friend has a Palit 9600GT Sonic 1GB with Dual DVI, HDMI and Display port.
If he gets a second regular 9600GT with 1GB of memory, can he still use the HDMI and display port connections on the first?
Thanks,
Indybird

In theory, yes, the ports on the first card are used, not any on the 2nd card.

He can use all the ports if you dont enable SLI. Also, in Vista, they have to use the same driver, but as they are the same card, it should work fine. If SLI was enabled, you can only use one port at a time, and I believe only on the first card. However, with SLI disabled, you can use any and all of the ports. You may need to configure them in the nVIDIA control panel as well.

nvidia is releasing a big driver update sometime soon that enables multiple-monitor support over SLI, so the amount of connectors that are usable won't matter too much.

That will be sweet! Then I can still run duals on Throttle.. except that I traded out my dual 20's for a single 22.. hmm.. maybe I could get them back..
