circular ball

In one of my idea mods coming up, the motherboard would be inside of a ball about a 15 inches in diametor. I would think the easiest way to access said motherboard would be it actually being two half circles and the top half comes off (hinge or something even). Where could i find one of these? wood preferably for ease of working with.

It also needs to be hollow, becuase my cards and all that would be in there

Wood's going to be difficult. Maybe laminated bowls ie salad bowls or similar. If you're open to other materials an old globe (http://cgi.ebay.com/LARGE-VINTAGE-16-INCH-NYSTROM-WORLD-GLOBE_W0QQitemZ350087083570QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m350087083570) would be a good starting point.

For plastic, a recent mod The Orb (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14581&highlight=orb) by |nq|Squelsh used a outdoor light sphere.
