Cheapest/Best Value SLI Cards?

What's the cheapest set of cards I can run SLI and still get great performance? Maybe the 8600 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500049)?

If you're wanting great performance... you're better off getting a single card and then later getting another card of the same type.

I'd go with 8800GT's if you need an immediate fix. You can get them on Newegg for $135 after MIR, even the pre-overclocked ones.


Edit: On the other hand, less than $100 for 2 8600GT's isn't bad.

Saw NCIX (Canada) had XFX GeForce 8800GT 256MB Video Cards going for $54.99 each! Sold out in a hurry.

I have had botha dn the 8600 series rock but I have EVGA 8800gt superclocked right now and I am happy with thema dn see no reason to upgrade until I change processor and motherboard again.
